After 30 years of re-establishment of the province, Phu Yen's economy has developed strongly. 2. The second year continuing to fulfill and exceed 18/18 targets of socio-economic development, national defense and security; putting the Public Administration Service Center into operation.
2019 is the second consecutive year that Phu Yen has fulfilled and exceeded 18/18 of the planned targets, including the Party development target. The growth rate of total product (GRDP) was 8.32%; total investment capital for social development of 19,164 billion dong (exceeding 3.6% of the plan), total export turnover of 168.8 million USD (exceeding 2.3% of the plan) ... Budget collection in the province reached more than 7,000 billion dong, up 53% over the same period last year.
In the morning of February 15, 2019, Phu Yen People's Committee put the Public Administration Service Center into operation, creating a breakthrough in administrative reform, with the goal of bringing transparency and timeliness in solving administrative procedures, improing the satisfaction of people, organizations and businesses.
3. Tay Hoa and Phu Hoa districts have been recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards.
After 8 years of building new rural areas (NTM), up to now, the infrastructure of Tay Hoa district has gradually met the local socio-economic development needs. 4. Song Cau town is recognized as a class-III urban center. Phu Yen Provincial People's Council issued a resolution approving the project of establishing Dong Hoa town
On March 4, 2019, the Ministry of Construction issued Decision No. 134 to recognize Song Cau Town as a class-III urban area of Phu Yen province. After 10 years of being recognized as a class IV urban area and after 9 years of becoming a town, Song Cau always deserves to be the central urban area of the North of the province, one of the driving forces contributing to the process of socio-economic development and urbanization of the province.
On December 27, 2019, the 7th Provincial People's Council held the 15th Session; delegates have voted to approve the project of establishing Dong Hoa town on the basis of 265.62km2 natural area and population of 119,991 people of Dong Hoa district. After establishment, Dong Hoa Town has 5 wards and 5 communes.
5. Successfully organizing many national conferences and seminars

7. Inaugurating new Da Rang Bridge, Dinh Ong Bridge and many big constructions
On May 31, 2019, Thang Long Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport) handed over the new Da Rang Bridge to the People's Committee of Tuy Hoa City to put into operation and use. The new Da Rang Bridge has a total length of nearly 1.6 km with total investment of 340 billion VND. The operation of new Da Rang Bridge will contribute to improving the operating capacity of the transport system, synchronizing arterial routes ...
Dinh Ong Bridge was inaugurated and put into use on June 28, 2019, with a length of more than 1.4 km over Ba River, connecting Phu Hoa and Tay Hoa districts, invested by the Provincial Management Board of Construction Investment Projects as an investor, with a total investment of over VND 500 billion. This is the most important item of the project for flood avoidance and rescue routes with a length of over 23.5km. The operation of Dinh Ong Bridge will create socio-economic development for both Phu Hoa and Tay Hoa districts.
8. Establishing Hi-Tech Forestry Cooperative in Phu Yen Province.
On November 18, 2019, in Tuy Hoa City, the Vietnam Union of Cooperatives cooperated with the People's Committee of Phu Yen Province and related parties to organize a conference of launching the High-Tech Forestry Cooperative in Phu Yen Province. This is an important cooperative economic model that promotes sustainable forestry sector development in line with the Government's orientation. Phu Yen High-tech Forestry Cooperative is formed with 24 members, which is the first model of high-tech forestry cooperative in Vietnam.
9. Successfully organizing the first Pacific Partnership program in Phu Yen.
The Pacific Partnership Program 2019 has taken place in Phu Yen (PP 19) from May 6 and lasts for 2 weeks, including 117 activities on health care, construction and repair of schools, and response to natural disasters. This is the first time the Pacific Partnership Program has been held in Phu Yen Province, and the 10th time the program has taken place in Vietnam. In addition to Vietnam, the Pacific Partnership program was also held in the Marshall Islands, Philippines, Micronesia, Malaysia, East Timor and Thailand.
10. Prolonged drought causes great damage.
In 2019, Phu Yen province experienced a historical drought, causing economic losses and affecting people's lives. More than 8,900ha of agricultural crops for summer-autumn crop were drought, of which the lost all area was more than 1,690ha. Drought also made nearly 12,000 households in Tuy An, Tay Hoa, Dong Xuan and Son Hoa districts lack of water.
The prolonged heat and carelessness of the people caused 70 forest fires with the burnt forest area of more than 1,180 ha across the province; Plantation forest died of drought over 3,000 ha.
