The provincial People's Committee has just assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with other departments, sectors and localities to develop Project of sustainable aquaculture development in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
In particular, the project includes additional research on lobster farming in tank on-shore, in open-sea, development of high-tech shrimp farming for economic development, creating alternative livelihoods for the affected aquaculture households in the lagoon, coastal fishing households, ensuring social security for coastal communities.
In the coming time, period of 2020 to 2021, Setting up project of developing aquaculture in cages and rafts on the sea of the province, including supplement of a detailed plan for aquaculture development in open sea areas of Song Cau town of 700 ha and An Hoa, An Hai communes, Tuy An district of 300ha.
The provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with localities to propagate and implement the Fisheries Law 2017 and documents guiding the implementation of the law; well implementing the state management of aquaculture under the Fisheries Law 2017; mobilizing and propagating people to register for granting certificates of eligibility for aquaculture according to requirements, registration of aquaculture in cages, rafts for key aquatic objects (tiger shrimp, whiteleg shrimp) according to the Decree No. 26/2019 / ND-CP dated March 8, 2019 of the Government, registering for granting food safety certificates for aquaculture enterprises. Propagating and mobilizing aquaculture households to abide by environmental protection regulations.
Proposing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to support capital of agricultural extension, science and technology, to implement the model of raising lobsters with HDPE cages in open sea in the province to transfer to households, reducing the pressure of raising in lagoon and bay; researching on production of breeds and industrial feeds for lobsters; Proposing the approval of the investment policy and funding support for the implementation of infrastructure investment project in the downstream aquaculture area of Ban Thach River, Dong Hoa District, with a scale of 120 ha and a total investment of about VND 120 billion.
In the coming time, giving priority to use of agricultural extension capital to implement sustainable aquaculture models; building a link chain in seafood production and business, especially lobster, in order to improve the quality, value and brand of key provincial fishery products. At the same time, actively coordinating with the Department of Planning and Investment to fully integrate development contents, land use plan for aquaculture into the provincial planning period 2021-2030 and orientations to 2050 (in which paying attention to the addition to high technology aquaculture area, open sea farming ...). Researching addition to projects on sea water supply and drainage to serve high-tech aquaculture in areas far from the sea.
