Ngoc Lang is a flower and vegetable village in Binh Ngoc commune (Tuy Hoa City). This is the island with three sides bordering on the river, deposited alluvial of the downstream of Da Rang and Chua rivers before two rivers pouring into the East Sea through Da Dien estuary.

Ngoc Lang - a fertile land filled with alluvium, welcomes the sun and sea all year round, is a place "warm in winter, cool in summer", green trees through four seasons. According to legend, the village name has been changed many times. In ancient times, more than 400 years before the Tuterlary god of the village established a village in the downstream of Da Rang River, the name at that time was Con Luong, then changed to Phung Hoang, later Nguyen Lang and now Ngoc Lang with the meaning of shining jewel.
Unique spiritual culture
According to the master plan, there will be a Nguyen Trai Bridge spanning the Chua river connecting Ngoc Lang with the city center. Nguyen Trai Bridge has a beautiful architectural shape, different from the existing bridges in the city.
Ngoc Lang is located in the northwest of the Da Dien estuary, where the landscape is open with three sides bordering on the river. Standing on Nhan tower yard looking down, Ngoc Lang is like a green jade sail with flocks of white storks fluttering on the bamboo groves, reflecting down the blue and peaceful Chua river.
Ngoc Lang was a land for the Vietnamese emigrants to settle down relatively quickly, at the same time as Tutelary god Luong Van Chanh (1611). In the process of building a village, Ngoc Lang people built many religious and cultural works as activity places for the community. Over time, constructions such as communal houses, temples, shrines have been kept and renovated by generations of descendants as an indispensable traditional culture in the community.
Ngoc Lang communal house was built in the middle of the 19th century, where worships the ancestor Le Van Luu (1765-1820) who had great merit of clearing land and establishing the village; In addition, the communal house also worships Le Van Xuyen of the junior generation who made great contributions to succeeding the ancestors to build the village. At present, the communal house is also worshiping 6 deities, 1 imperial edict and 3 acestral tablets conferred by the Nguyen Dynasty, which are kept in the village communal house.
Every year, on September 8 of the lunar calendar, the village holds the anniversary of ancestors. The sacrifice to pray for peace, prosperity, and good crops for the village is a cultural beauty with the meaning of mixing land spirit and human love, the intersection of past and present cultural flow. Village communal house were classified as provincial cultural relics in 2013.
For a long time, this land has created spiritual cultural features, rich traditions, customs, and deep patriotic traditions. These values are an important basis for today's generation to write new pages of history.
The land changes day by day
Coming to Ngoc Lang today, we can easily see vegetable beds, colorful flower gardens all year round radiant in the morning sun; besides, there are the image of mothers and sisters, with a leaf hat shaded in the sun, four seasons diligently weeding, fertilizing flower beds, vegetable gardens with skillful hands.
Ngoc Lang village has a road running around the village which is now concreted, the rest are branch roads and dead-end roads in the form of fish bones. There is only one entrance to the village from Nguyen Tat Thanh Road going through the railway, which is also the exit. This is a hotspot for traffic safety; a weak point of feng shui making this land was formed very early but slowly developed.
The new bridge has not only solved the traffic problem, waked up a sleepy land - a lifelong dream of the people; but also has been a place to admire, drop the flower, highlight of the cultural space, and drop soul into Nhan mountain, Chua river.
Nguyen Trai Street runs across the bridge to the south, following a trail linking to Nguyen Tat Thanh Boulevard, dividing Ngoc Lang into three areas. The Northwest Area is an existing residential area, which needs to refurbish the transport infrastructure system, electricity and water, concrete roads and dead-end roads; The houses are built and renovated by the people in a separate form, with a low construction density, and land for planting flowers and vegetables.
The southwest area includes fields of vegetables and flowers. This is a typical area, a lifeline of the village, should not take land to build houses and other works but need to bring scientific progress into cultivation, planting many high-class flowers and vegetables. Currently, this is a destination to visit, take pictures, comtemplate the beauty of tourists when coming to Tuy Hoa, and is the pride of Ngoc Lang people.
The eastern area has an area of more than 40ha of bare land gradually descending to the sea, where it is not eroded, beautiful scenery, and is the golden land. In the future, this place will form a high-class eco-tourism resort; to build an 18-storey hotel (lower than Nhan Tower) and many other constructions such as water music stage, boat racing wharf, and aquarium; place for event venues, trade and tourism service centers ... The remain will build high-class villas with a large area of land, beautiful architectural shape, not only for accommodation and relaxation but also for business of eating and drinking, offices for rent, exchanging and selling flowers and ornamental fish.
Coming to Ngoc Lang Flower Village today, visitors will enjoy the sunrise with the sea surface as gold inlay when sunshine and the waves coming. And when night falls, visitors will see the seven shimmering lights of the Hung Vuong bridge connecting the city banks, the space flowing smoothly in the silence and the whispering waves patting on the boat side
